PermaLink Advertising Standards Authority Adjudication
Objection to a national press and Internet advertisement, for land sales, that was headed "PROFIT FROM LAND". An illustration showed plots of land with many labelled "sold" and the areas surrounding labelled "EXISTING DEVELOPMENT". The advertisement stated "Purchase land within Surrey''s largest housing target area ... The bustling and prosperous town of Redhill, Surrey, is popular with commuters due to its excellent transport links to London and Gatwick Airport ...". The complainant, who asserted that the land was Green Belt land, challenged whether the advertisement misleadingly implied buyers were likely to be able to build on the advertised land.

Complaint upheld.
